 The inventors of total football, Dutch football is a football lover’s joy. They have a way with the ball and are second to none in their skills. Holland has produced world-class players like Cruyff, van Basten, Gullit, Bergkamp, Rijkaard and Davids, in the last three decades. Striker Ruud van Nistelrooy teaming up with 19-year-old Wesley Sneijder and a host of the very best from European leagues makes this squad a heady mixture. 

However all is not very well with the team. The very fact that the players come from all over Europe also becomes its bane as it paves the way for internal bickering and a plethora of other problems like racial issues and factionalism. Abounding talent also brings with it abundant problems. Coaches then tend to use an iron hand, which in turn causes heart burn for the star players. The team’s fortunes are affected when these differences and ego problems are carried over to the pitch. If super egos can be kept under check and self-destructive tendencies curbed, the Dutch can surely have a go at the magnificent Cup of World supremacy.
